Career Plan

This morning, while I having my coffee, I've dragged in the meeting room by my superior for a short discussion. Normally, whenever boss calls his/her subordinate in a room, it will not be something pleasant :P. I was thinking to myself, did I screw up anything recently? not that I remember.

We both seated and I was still wondering what's this all about. He started to speak: "Hey, I would like to know what's your career plan for the next 6, 9 and 12 months." Gee... career plan.

I did not tell him my evil plan which will shorten my career live LoL.

This is what I planned, Think more, Work less and Earn more, to summarize it means is WORK SMART. LoL.

I will share with you how did I plan to work smarter....

Young Millionaire Gurbaksh Chahal

This guy really inspires me. Let me share a little bit of his story.
He and his family emigrate from Punjab, India to San Jose in 1986.
He founded his first company, ClickAgents a performance-based advertising company in year 1998, and sold it for $40 million to a competitor ValueClick in an all-stock merger in 2000. After three year non-compete agreement with ValueClick ended. His formed a second venture, Blue Lithium in year 2004, and sold to Yahoo last year for $300 million in cash. What surprise me was he's 26 years old now. (what you were/are/will be doing in this age?)

It was definitely not an easy task for third world country immigrants to survive in a competitive foreign country like US. However, with his believes, courage, hard work and determination, anything dreams can come true. And now he is a multi-millionaire in his age. (he deserves more than a pat on his shoulder :) )

For those youngsters out there, please don’t complaint about your job, your paycheck or why you don’t born rich. You, yourself decide who you wannabe and where you wanna go.

Quote from Bill Gates: “If you born poor it’s not your mistake, but if you die poor it’s your mistake”.

The New President of the United States

YES, WE CAN!

I personally delighted with yesterday election's result. I do believe that for America to elect a black President is a great milestone. And I also believe Obama’s roots in Kenya and childhood in Indonesia will help him in understanding our parts of the world. Yet we must be realistic: he faces an extraordinary combination of economic and political challenges; and people’s expectations about what he can achieve and change, and how fast, are probably far too high.

Bursa Stock Rebound – 5 Consecutive Days Uptrend

I bought 1 Lot of Bursa stock on 13 Oct 2008 for RM5.80 after seeing 3 Years record low on that day. The next day it went up to RM6.00 like I expected but I was targeting RM 6.30.

But god knows, it went south on selling pressure for the economic uncertainty on the following days to as low as RM 4.68. I was not worry about that cause I know the stock is under value... The next time i do was holding on the stock till it rebound.

The rebound started on 28 Oct and it end up for RM 6.20 by this hour.

Expecting there will be price correction. In this tempting price should I Hold or Sell? I am struggling over my emotion... which will take over my conscious now? Greed or Anxious?

Cure for ezcema and fungus infection

I have a friend that having eczema for few months on his leg. The condition is really bad.. the skin cracked and dry. The doctor had suggested him to use ointment for the treatment but it doesn't help much to improve the condition.

This has reminded me that I used to have the same problem on my toe. It cracks and bleeds. I have seen few doctors that gave me some ointment too.. but it just doesn't work.

Until the last doctor from my company panel that recommended me the magic purple powder - Potassium permanganate. It actually acts as an antiseptic to kill off the superficial fungus.

How to apply it?
1) Prepare a bucket of warm water to soak the infected skin.

2) Sprinkle small amount of potassium permanganate powder in the water and see the bucket of water turn into purple color.

3) Soak the infected skin for 10-15 min and you will see the color of your infected skin turned into brownish.

4) Apply ointment consistently

5) Repeat once a day until you new skin grows and the infected skin peels off.

Where to get it?
You may get the powder from your nearest pharmacy, and the best thing is... it's cheap!! (RM 2 - RM 4/ bottle)

Hope this may help some of you out there :)

Millionaire$ by Gobala Krishnan

Got a book from MPH yesterday, The New Millionaire$ by Gobala Krishnan and the book is selling for RM39.90.

Basically the book is talking about Make Money Online.

I thought of getting some inspiration from book but it seems my money had down to drain.

First few chapters of the book were all about he bitched about his pathetic work life and how the Internet changed his life.

Chapter 4 was a long list of Q&A session with the 12 so-called Malaysian Internet gurus on their success stories.

The last Chapter was more usable that he shared on some tricks how to get deals from the Internet.

The summary of the book is lack of useful content. Not his fault, it was just I bought the wrong book.

Nice try for Gobala, but more improvement on content is needed.

Goal Setting

Have you ever come across that you wanted to do something but you always procrastinate it? I did have this bad habit and I've figured out a way to overcome it.

Goal Setting is the answer. It can constantly remind yourself on what you are going to do now in order to get what you want later.

Let me share with you a little bit on how to set a goal .

1) Set your Goals with Action Plan and Deadline
Think of what are you going to achieve in either short term (weeks or months) or long term (months or years). Secondly, your action plans on how are you going to achieve your goals and when are you going to realize it.

2) Write them down
Put all goals, action plans and deadline on a piece of paper and paste it somewhere obvious (i.e. mirror, room door, etc) that you can constantly remind yourself what you need to do.

3) Periodic Review
Review your goals and track your progress. Write down a report on the goals you unable to achieve within timeline and refine them later.

EXECUTION IS THE KEY
You might hear people say fail to plan is plan to fail. I agree on it, but however a good plan without execution is Nothing!!
